Pivot 1.20 beta 2 was just released. There is again some new functionality. I’ve had two people contribute code for this release: General Dogsbody, and Wouter Teepe. This beta also signifies the start of something which I think is very special, so i’m very thrilled about it..
Some of you know that i’m self-employed since earlier this year. The assignment I am working on right now is for Erik Visser of Publicworks Foundation (Just a placeholder currently). The new website will be powered by Pivot, but it required functionality which was not yet available, like optional user registration, dynamic archive pages, and semi-threaded comments. Erik insisted that the custom code I wrote for him would be given back to the Pivot community. There will probably be a few bugs to squat in the code, but i’m confident that the functionality I’m making for Erik will benefit a lot of other Pivot users, and I think it’s great that I have the chance to work on Pivot in this way.
Anyhow, get the updater or the full install here. If you’re upgrading: just extract and upload all the files. Make sure the new pivot/db/users/ folder is chmodded to 777. For details on what’s changed, and how to use the new functionality, see this forum post.
And: One week until the contest ends, you lazy bastiches! ![]()
