Stick a fork in it, it's done! We've just released Pivot 1.30 Final. This means that now is the time to upgrade if you don't want to miss out on all the new features and fixes since our last stable version.
In case you've been out of the loop, Pivot 1.30 contains new features like very effective spam-fighting tools, a fast and flexible wysiwig editor, much improved Atom and RSS feeds, and countless more fixes and smaller improvements and even a few security issues have been resolved.
Because quite a few things have changed since 1.2x, we've written a small script that checks for the things you need to change to get 1.30 running smoothly. For instance, it makes sure you've removed redundant tags from your templates, and that all of the required files are writable.
If you're new to Pivot, you should get the full version below, and read here on how to get started.
There are two upgraders. One for if you're upgrading any version from 1.0 to 1.3Beta3, and one for upgrading 1.30RC installations. If you're upgrading, follow these steps:
The Files are here, on our Sourceforge page:
Tip: We've heard about people (mainly on OSX) who've had their FTP programs wipe the folders clean before uploading. Make sure that doesn't happen to you. And if it does, you'll be glad you made that backup like I told you to.
Tip 2: If you're having trouble rebuilding your database, you should use the repair_db_utility_1.0.zip
Tip 3: Check out the new Spam Protection options in your Pivot overview screen. They Rule!
Tip 4: Should you need them, the import scripts are here: import_scripts_1.3.zip
