Pivot 1.40.1..

06:33

We've released Pivot 1.40.1. This is a recommended upgrade for all users. There are no real new features, just a fair amount of bugfixes and other small improvements. For details, check out the changelog for 1.40.1.

This version comes in three flavors:

So, if you want to set up a new install, use the Full version and read here on how to get started.
If you're running 1.40RC or 1.40.0, you can get the small updater. If you're running an older version (including 1.40 alphas and 1.40 betas), you will need to get the larger updater file.

  • Extract the files on your computer.
  • Make a backup of your website. (really)
  • Upload all the files overwriting the ones already present.
  • Download the upgradechecks tool, unzip it and upload to your pivot folder.
  • Open pivot/upgradechecks.php in your browser and see if you have to make any changes.
  • Log in to your Pivot, and do the following:
    • Rebuild the index.
    • Go to Administration » Weblogs, and click through your weblog so, the weblog configuration is updated.
    • Add [[thickbox:head]] to the <head> section of your templates, if you want to use the new thickbox popups.
    • Rebuild all pages.
  • Enjoy your brand-new Pivot!

Alternatively you can use our Pivot Setup script, which takes care of the installation/upgrading. Read about it here: Pivot Setup.

Tip: We've heard about people (mainly on OSX) who've had their FTP programs wipe the folders clean before uploading. Make sure that doesn't happen to you by reading this forum thread.

Big Thanx

I luuuuv the upgradechecks tool! Comes in use when you’ve been using Pivot for years…

Hi!
I downloaded yesterday the full version of pivot. Looks great! But I can use some help. I like to know if you must all the templates (like this: frontpage_template_3column.html, but also the 2column and the other one) uploaded on the FTP templates folder? And if I do, you must edit them all? Probably there will be no help in this entry, but where can I find it?

Thanks in advance!

Please use the support forum for all future questions. The templates that a weblog is currently using can be seen by going to Administration > Weblogs > {the weblog}. You only need to edit those templates to affect the weblog. You are free to use other templates as you desire.
