Pivot 1.40.7 released..
00:14We've just released Pivot 1.40.7, which contains some smaller changes and fixes, one of which is security-related. So, this is a recommended upgrade for all users of Pivot 1.40.x. For instructions on how to install or upgrade, please see the details after the jump.
This version comes in three flavors:
- Pivot 1.40.7 Full - The full version
- Pivot 1.40.7 updater for 1.40 RC (Use this for upgrading Pivot 1.40RC, 1.40.0 through 1.40.6)
- Pivot 1.40.7 updater for other versions (For upgrading any other Pivot 1.x version)
So, if you want to set up a new install, use the Full version and read here on how to get started. If you're running a version between 1.0 and 1.40.6, you can get the appropriate updater.
- Extract the files on your computer.
- Make a backup of your website. (really)
- Upload all the files overwriting the ones already present.
- Download the upgradechecks tool, unzip it and upload to your pivot folder.
- Open pivot/upgradechecks.php in your browser and see if you have to make any changes.
- Log in to your Pivot, and do the following:
- Rebuild the index.
- Go to Administration » Weblogs, and click through your weblog so, the weblog configuration is updated.
- Make sure [[thickbox:head]] is in the <head>-section of your templates, if you want to use the thickbox popups.
- Rebuild all pages.
- Enjoy your brand-new Pivot!
Alternatively you can use our Pivot Setup script, which takes care of the installation/upgrading. Read about it here: Pivot Setup.
Tip: We've heard about people (mainly on OSX) who've had their FTP programs wipe the folders clean before uploading. Make sure that doesn't happen to you by reading this forum thread.

Can you make an update to the wysiwyg editor to include the “Paste from Word” option? I am using many documents from Word and anytime I want to paste them into Pivot… I have to paste them first in a notepad, then copy them from there to pivot.

I need help, i download it and i canīt find any .exe files, so i can’t run Pivot. Also, it says that the file its corrupted and cannot be extracted. HELP Please
If you downloadad Pivot throuh our site you have downloaded weblog software. It does not contain any .exe files. I believe you were probably looking for a stick animation program of the same name; You will not find that program at pivotlog.net and will have to look elsewhere. Good luck & Happy Holidays!
In searching for an alternative for my wordpress blog I found pivot —- I’m glad I did! I am now creating a testing site to learn the ins and out,m the dos and don’ts of Pivot. So far as I can for starters, this is a good system! I liked the various samples of users that I checked out!
I’ll be back to report on my experiences!

Pivot is a great weblog tool but development has been stopped on Pivot since the release of PivotX. Head over to PivotX.net and check it out!
Damn. After this update the search-thingy is f*cked up. It just gives up one searchresult but 30 times that.
Yes, that is an annoying bug. It has been reported in the forum several times – see for example http://forum.pivotlog.net/viewtopic.php?.. – and a patch has been posted in the forum long time ago.
PS! The reason there hasn’t been a new Pivot release is that we have moved on to PivotX – http://pivotx.net – the next generation Pivot.
